Stuart J. Gibson, born in 1978, earned his BFA and MFA in studio art from the University of Arizona respectively in 2002 and 2007. His interdisciplinary works have been widely exhibited nationally for the last ten years and he is an emerging artist of growing international stature.
Gibson works in a variety of two and three-dimensional media including drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, installation, video and sound. Common topics explored in his work revolve around the poetics of the ‘everyday’ and how meaningful experiences are qualified and assessed on the individual and collective level(s).
Gibsonʼs works are included in various institutional collections including the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts as well as numerous significant private collections such as that of independent curator David A. Ross, and Jack Lemon of Landfall Press.
